Title: Drive faliure.
Post by: Apollo on August 23, 2010, 04:42:17 AM
I've lost a drive, and therefore will not be doing much for a few days until I recover it.
It was my secondary drive, which held all my applications. ( primary is OS, and the third on is for games. )

you might try RAID for your next purchase -- two (or more) drives of the same capacity that store the same data so when one fails, the other is safe.  you might also need a RAID card.

It was a mere Bios issue, that magically appeared all by its' self..
I am planning on just doing Raid 1 with two 1tb drives with my next box, with one external backup drive along side.

if you do that, can we store maps and valuable stuff on it, as a backup server?

Absolutely.
