Title: Problem with sauer
Post by: SkyLaX on September 27, 2011, 07:56:20 PM
So, I have installed sauer on my laptop, but I got a problem, it's running at 3 fps (even on the menu) with everything switched off ....
While I can run World of Warcraft or any other game with good settings without trouble :/

Here's the message I have when I lunch it :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Sauerbraten>bin\sauerbraten.exe -r
init: sdl
init: net
init: game
init: video: mode
init: video: misc

(Computer is new :/)
It's quite unplayable, I'll be glad if you could help me :P

Edit : I found the problem, is there any way to make an .exe? :/

I got 2 graphic card in one, and it should lunch the "High quality" mode when I play.
But sauer isn't an .exe, the computer think it's just a console and doesn't run the high quality thing. (Or sauer doesn't use it...)

Just copy the contents of the BIN folder to the root Sauer folder and use the EXE.

The sauerbraten.bat file launches the real executable, with some command line parameters. I doubt it has anything to do with it though. You should ask on the #sauerbraten channel.

I found a way to get an .exe, and that's useless... Still not working so... :(

I had this same problem. I had an old acer aspire, and I had the same problems. It's a graphics card failure, try to return your computer for a new one, or just but a new GPU.

Well, I don't see why launching from a batch file or an exe would make a difference, but if you must use the EXE, just move all the stuff out of the bin folder and drop it directly in the sauer folder. That way the exe doesn't have to look for anything, ( Which I believe is the purpose of the batch file. )
