Title: Server upgrade, part II
Post by: vampirefrog on February 17, 2011, 09:40:32 AM
Hi guys. As you may have noticed, the server has been down for a few days. There was a problem with mysql after upgrading from Debian Lenny to Debian Squeeze (Squeeze is now stable). That got fixed, and in the meanwhile, I also proceeded to setup software RAID1 partitions on the two 1TB hard disks. So now our uploaded files (the maps we upload on this forum, for example) are safe. The partition scheme is like this: there are two 500GB partitions, one is root, the other is data, and GRUB is set up to boot from RAID.

Why do you need a 500gb for root? My root is 20GB out of 1TB, and i use maybe 5GB of it.
