Y'all ever played Mirror's Edge?

You know, that game with the parkour, and the chick that's hot and sort of approachable? Yeah. lot's of Mirror's Edge maps have been made in Sauer- none textured properly, nor modeled correctly. I think we should make one. That doesn't suck.

My Script thread

How to use: Put the script in your Sauer home folder, and then in your autoexec.cfg (if you don't have one make one), put "exec SCRIPTNAME.cfg"

beastie.cfg:

Renames you, and sings the song "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys, relatively in time to the music. You'll have to change the script to make sure it changes you back to the right name.

guitest.cfg:

A simple test of the Sauer GUI function, use it as a skeleton for making your own GUI's.

Vampi told me to take my geometry and put it all in one map. So I did. And to spite him, I ripped on the name vampiscratch. So there.

Anyways, it's pretty low scale right now, just some spirals, circles, and circular holes. Feel free to use any of it, I really don't care, just as long as I'm referenced somehow.

Maps / The Clanmap Thread

This thread will be for distributing the clanmap and creating guidelines for editing and sharing.

Every time you update the map, please upload here.

Guidelines for editing:

You MAY edit by yourself. When doing that, please do it online, so you don't edit offline while somebody else also edits offline, creating two different version of the map. Preferably, use Jim Dandy, but you are free to use whatever server, as long as it's public and any MH member can see that you are editing the map. This may be edited for certain circumstances.

Guidelines for downloading the map:
The Texture pack used in the map will have a different thread. It may be updated, please have the most recent version when possible. When running a map with custom texture, you will need a config file that specifies which textures are in the map. Unless new textures are added, this will not change. It is not your job to update the config file (mapname.cfg), I will likely update it. It goes into your packages/base folder.

Guidelines for uploading the map:
As said before, every time you have made a change for the map, you may upload it here. A more efficient system may be implemented later. When uploading the map, upload the .ogz file (mapname.ogz) file only. The .cfg file will be updated separately, as will the texture pack.

Screenshots are ideal, but are not essential.

ONLY EDIT ON SERVERS

ONLY UPDATE THE OGZ FILE

EVERYONE CAN EDIT

Maps / Clanmap decision time

It's time for a decision on what our clanmap(s) should be. I will showcase two former MH clanmaps, that could easily be revamped to work for us. I will also give the option for a whole new one. As always, the decision is up to the clan. Another decision to make, is to remove or keep old houses owned by previous MH members in them. MHQTerrain has a house by Cooper, Doko, and I don't remember who else.

Option 1: -[Hell]-HQ

Advantages: Fits the 'Mapping Hell' theme
Disadvantages: Requires major cleaning and revamping

I took some minecraft textures off of the wiki and make a texture pack with them. I resized them to be the size of exactly one cube.

I also made a map with them, which is in the .zip file. Feel free to modify it and play Minecraft in Sauerbraten!

This script changes fog and fogcolour to create a weird rave party thing. Unix was too lazy to upload it, so I will.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING:

Copy "fogspam.cfg" into your packages folder

Open/Create an "autoexec.cfg" file in the packages folder

In autoexec, type the following things, each on separate lines:

exec fogspam.cfg
bind "M" [fogstart]
bind "N" [fogstop]

I somehow managed to break my DC board on my laptop, so I had to send it in and get a loaner computer. It has Sauer, but it also has an integrated graphics card (I had NVidia on the other). I probably won't be on until I get that laptop back, as my frame rate is despicable.

This map has been an idea of mine for awhile, but I finally got around to making it. I finally gathered the conviction and effort to actually make a semi-complete map.

About the map:

NOT PLAYABLE

Lighted, with most complete light work I've probably ever done.

Only a few quirky cubes- I try to keep them to a minimum, because they look bad in light.

Also: How do I make a glossy texture shader for the fountain? Some sort of light reflection thing.
