Welcome to the forum! :D
I don't think we've met.

I hope to see some of your maps soon. :)

Not so bad of a game. Still, its red eclipse themed.

I don't think you can legally say that it's "Red Eclipse themed."

Chris's reply is perfect.

Now, I hope everybody can DROP IT and stop kicking each other in the teeth.

I am growing tired of it.

Cooper. I know you will read this.   :)

Grow up.

Now, I'm sure you will understand that maps will be removed if they are not of adequate quality to be displayed on the website. We used to have a very nice system on Quad where maps would be flagged for various issues. We could flag for Screenshot problems, General Quality, Incorrect packaging, Lighting issues, and some other things that I cannot bring myself to recall. These flags were removed because people like you cannot refrain from bitching about them.

I should note that the standard for 'Adequate quality' is not very high at all, and is in fact no more than the discretion of the Moderators who view the node. It was only a matter of time before somebody took it down, if not Calinou himself.
A map of such quality does no more but spark argument and waste server space and bandwidth. Would you really play it?
I never got a response from YOU on what YOU thought about the map, and you've neglected from saying anything of the like in your forum post.

Regardless, it seems to me that you view everything as a personal attack. Go right ahead and look at things as you please, it does not concern me. The removal of the node was not intended as any personal attack or attack on your beloved CM clan, it was just me doing my job as a moderator. The fact that I am part of MH has no part in this, and I truly couldn't care less about who made the map. If it is good, then it's good. If it isn't, then it isn't; it is that simple. Take your CM Valley map; do I dislike it based on who made it? No. It is an excellent map. The fact that you choose to associate the MH tag with the deletion of the node is no more than you trying to justify something that plays no part.

The only reason I can picture keeping it is for a laugh or two from the comments.

Feel free to quote this directly on your forum and try to twist my words into something to make you feel better.

I hope this clears things up.

Sincerely, Jake.

But Ranger does not specify sex.
We can change it to 'Fine ass rangers'
Our target is as in the image below.

Deleted the node. It was sparking argument, and it is of inadequate quality. Somebody else would have deleted it anyways.

I edited some of the comments, deleted a bunch, and locked the node.

Don't worry about it.

I hate Suicizers all encompassing reviews. The length, combined with the grammar and consistent incorrect use of words makes me crazy.

There's a rather fat line between slow computers and museum exhibits.
Quote from: Windecker | 2012-01-29 11:09
I'm not so sure about that.
I loaded up this map on my new machine and it was running so slow that it was nearly unplayable.
I upped my clockrate from 1.1 to 1.4 kilohertz and it smoothed out a bit, but then one of my vacuum tubes exploded. It would seem that I am down another fourteen bucks.

Some of ( most of ) the best maps I have ever seen, Calinou has rated with one star, and insulted the authors through his comments...
but now HE posts THIS?

http://www.quadropolis.us/node/3294

I knew full well already that he wasn't capable of anything, but most people will stay behind the curtain and give the illusion that they have some talent... This is just a kick in the face to anybody he has ever criticized.

It's like telling somebody that their four billion dollar rocket is childish, and then trying to launch a bottle rocket with a paper cone taped on the front and expect gratification.

Yeah, its kind of becoming an addiction.
He's voting on applications with the message "if I was in the clan, I'd vote:". He's acting like he's in the clan, but he can't wear the tag.
It is becoming a nuisance .

I second this. It can confuse applicants, and it is quite irritating in my opinion. Besides this, telling us what you 'Would vote' does not count as a vote, and as thus serves no purpose.

No.

It's -48 today, apparently. It's actually something like -30 with a bit of wind, but that's what the weather site and my fingers tell me. Truck wouldn't start because something killed the battery.

So... in the bitter cold, fumbling with a ratchet and sockets, I changed the battery in the blowing wind and finally got it started.

I am now waiting for the truck to warm up. I will give pictures of my mitten warmer, as my mitten warmer is the only thing keeping me sane. :

To be honest, we've seen the 'bridge over a canyon' about three thousand times. :D
It seems to be one of the most popular things to attempt ever.

Anywho;
A tip for the canyon.  Lets say you were to work *below* the surface of the canyon: In such a case, you could curve your canyon at either end so has to hide the open end. It makes it appear more distant and keeps from breaking the feel of the map by having a giant open hole at each end.
Alternatively, if you are above the edge of the canyon, you could do the same thing with mountains per se, and have the canyon curve into and behind a mountain or large hill.

It would be beneficial to rough out a bit more of the map before asking for help.
At least that way people who come in to the project have an idea of what is being done.

Maps / Re: Lord of the rings Minas Tirith

I broke the model into 17 segments of between 17,000 and 55,000 polys each.
I imported them all into UDK and assembled.
Doing a calc using lightmass now. :D

I should note that my model is very slightly skewed... it was ripped from VRAM and was twisted as fuck. I managed to get it FAIRLY straight, manually, but the cost of perfection is high.
