Got the card. I had to add a second power supply. The first one would run both cards, but it was straining the 500W supply and the machine would kill itself after about twenty minutes.

The second supply is nestled in the drive bay. ( I have no CD drives so I had lots of space. )

I'll put pictures up later.

There are a LOT of wires hidden behind the drive cage.

Replacing the 6600 with a GTX 470 this weekend to drive the third display. Should help fix the incompatibilities and grant me a good amount more computing power. ( in regards to PhysX and Cuda capable applications n stuff. )

Green - Average idiot who dumps lava everywhere and calls it a work of art

Purple - Any respectable mapper

Orange - The gifted mappers who have a finished work of art the second they sit down.

The graph shows the maximum percentage of completion achievable on any given map given the number of editors. Imagine the time span as 21 days.

Under 100 Gigs. Downloadable in less than a month by torrent.

Or we could just mail clusters of flash drives to each other. Might be faster.

You judge based on their creative skills.

The mapping process may be different, but the outcomes are not all that dissimilar.

( It also doesn't take long to go from Sauer to Xonotic ( as an example ) editing wise. There is a bit of a learning curve, but you can transfer all of your artistic skills almost instantly once you learn the workflow )

Joining / Re: Doom would like to join Mapping Hell.
June 11, 2012, 06:59:33 AM
I'm torn for two reasons.

Firstly is the map.
Terrain looks nice in the screenshot, but it seems quite lackluster when loaded in-game.
The map is lacking in material. The geometry is acceptable, but there are a number of small errors, and nothing really that catches my eye.

Secondly is attitude and interaction between other members.
I've heard of there being some tension between you ( Doom ) and other members. No names need be said, as that is not the point. Attitude is very important, and if there are going to be problems then I am inclined to say no, unless I can know for sure that both parties can rise above these things. There is also previous history that is not overly positive, but I am a firm believer in 'People change,' and I see no point in dwelling on little past events.

You do not yet have my vote.

*cough*
Zoocata, did you read any of the comments on the forum thread?
You need to drag over the packages folder from the Sauer SVN.

Put it in BLAHDIRECTORY/Tesseract/tesseract/

I just created a junction point with mine so I wouldn't have duplicated assets. Plus, I'll probably never go back to the SVN now. :P

News & Discussions / Walking into Mordor
March 10, 2012, 04:53:11 AM
I feel this is important news.

Was curious on how to get to Mordor, so like any other self respecting human being I Googleplexed it.

I did a search on Google Maps, set to 'Walking Paths'

Google tells me that I cannot simply walk into Mordor.

If there was something I could do to actually *help*, I would, but sending money to some organization that nobody's ever heard of isn't my cup of tea.

If the military wanted to get involved... well... they have drones for a reason. You'd have to find the bastard all the same before you could draw an X over his picture. However, at the very deepest roots of nearly every dispute is greed, and by exploiting one's greed you can generally find that of which you seek. There's a hitch of course. The country that would likely take action would be the US of A, but we run into the issue of Corporatocracy. If they cannot bring in a profit they will more than likely stay out of it.

In such a scenario as this, I see little profit. You drop into a developing country against troops consisting mainly of untrained armed men and children. Depending on the morals of the individual soldiers, the fight would not last long in a relative sense and is therefor unappealing to the greedy little government.

War is a profiteer's dream.

Didn't read the post yet... but it reminded me of how one can make so many accurate shapes with just a compass and a pencil, as well as measure a number of precise angles with just a compass.  ( No protractors! )

GAHAHAHAHA. I read read the new comments on the thread.

SirAlex said : "Windecker/Quadropolis: I've known how biased quadropolis is, I really don't expect much from there. I really don't appreciate that Windecker's an admin there when he's so biased in the topics he closes."

No, SirAlex, I am not a biased person. I have no problem with peoples skin color, I have no issue with what religion anybody may choose if they choose one at all. I do not judge those for disabilities they may be born with or be diagnosed with later in life.

I Just Hate You.   =D
... and Calinou ... He annoys the fuck out of me.
