Title: sonic deathmatch WIP [11/01/13]

Started this 3 days ago, another sonic the hedgehog themed map. So far its made up completely (not based on an actual map/level in the games). Though i've tried to recreate obvious features and geometry to make it look like a map from sonic the hedgehog.

When it's finished it will hopefully be a fun deathmatch map.

I'll probably change the map name soon, so far its kind of a 3d mix between 'green hill zone' and 'autumn hill zone' from the old sonic games.

Looks like a cool map, bro

Couple suggestions- realize the waterfalls a little more, have them split, make them uneven, add some foam

Don't make the waterfalls accessible, unless implemented like in btfalls, waterfalls tend to be a bad gameplay element. If you can make them scenery, it would be better.

Also, needs more space that is accessible without having to jump. Jumping makes a player open to shooting in midair.

Autumn hill seems to be a sonic 2 mod/romhack

Changed skybox with matching fog to give it a more 'green' feeling... seeing as it resembles 'green hill zone' the most.  ;D
Added some more areas, weapon pickups, and a few small changes.

I might delete (or remake and move) the loop-the-loop in the far corner. Still not playable yet.

Lol, i know what green hill zone looks like  :), i'm not remaking the theme of it entirely.
Also trying to make the colours blend together more naturally than 16bit graphics.

I might play around with the colours later on, thats if i can somehow make a skybox with the image you posted. For now, with the skyboxes already in sauerbraten, i think the colour scheme i have at the moment fits the skybox perfectly.

Made the map slightly larger and extended the sides. Still need to fix lighting on the palm tree's and then build another section on the default grid texture.

This one is very nice, should finnish up the layout soon. Seems like it can be playable and fun. I'm not sure if the loopty loops and shit would really work in a game though.

Amazing map!!! Its really awesome, Are you going to post this to Quadropolis? Im sure everyone would be "Flipping-Out" over this map! Very good work Unix :)

Psssh, flipping out? You can't post anything on Quad and hope for flipping out. Well, I guess you can expect Suicizer to flip his little pink bra, but nothing else.
