So I just recently started playing Sauer again, but I can't play much because of my schedule and all.  I started toying around with the idea of a city again, but instead of focusing on the skyscrapers and all first, I decided to start with housing, specifically row houses.  Since I don't have a lot of time to play, and I'm lazy in general, I'm asking you guys to make row house designs for me to put in the city, eventually.  Obviously they all won't be unique, but enough designs, with with a variety of textures should do the trick, so if you make one, just try making a couple of copies of it with different textures/details.  Interior is optional, all I really care about is the front of the house.  If you decide you want to help, please follow the dimensions guidelines, as the houses all have to fit side by side uniformly.
In gridpower 3:
30 deep for the house, with an additional 6 for stoop/awning/stairs/etc, 10 wide
12 tall, including a 2 tall base, so the ground floor is elevated 2 cubes

If you help, I'll give you creds in whatever the finished product is.

So, I was going to take a look at the config of a map that I had been working on, but I couldn't find the .ogz or .cfg file for the map, so I went back into the game, and the map loaded fine, but if I ever want to upload that map anywhere, I'll need the files, any idea what the problem is?

There is another update coming this summer sometime. Lots of new features too.

It seems like you're kind of out of the loop. :D
Sweet, and yeah, I hardly ever get on recently, I'll hopefully be a bit more active during the summer.

Resources / Probability of another update?

Since it's now been over a year since the last Sauerbraten update, and maybe it's just me, but I think that the community has been slowly depleting for a while, so I was wondering what your opinions are on whether or not there will be another update sometime in the future.

I started a TF2 style map, based on a player made map I really like.  I'm not sure that Sauerbraten is really cut out for class based fighting, but who knows, it could be pretty cool.

Maps / Swordhouse

A small, Japanese-ish style courtyard, mainly made for "authentic" samurai sword matches for people with Solaris hudguns.

I just got Solaris (full and hudguns).  The bases in regen capture are invisible, just the ammo and the red/blue bar at the top, and in ctf the flag doesn't change.  I'm running OS X.

Post your problems on any game here.  As for me, my scroll wheel isn't doing anything in edit mode but is fine otherwise.

My friend recently installed Sauerbraten on his computer, but when he runs the program, even on the loading screens, the screen "spazzes out", I will put up a video soon, but I have this for now:

C:\Program Files\Sauerbraten>bin\sauerbraten.exe -r
init: sdl
init: net
init: game
init: video: mode
init: video: misc
init: gl
Renderer: RADEON 9550 (ATI Technologies Inc.)
Driver: 2.0.6288 Release
Rendering using the OpenGL fixed-function path.
init: console
init: gl: effects
init: world
init: sound
init: cfg
init: mainloop

I was playing a really good deathmatch server a while ago, although I forget what it was.  I also just downloaded Warsow, It's okay, the textures on the maps (usually large chunks of solid color) are fun at first, but get boring, and I have not gotten used to the gameplay.

Also about Nexuiz, I was just playing it online for an hour, and this is what I have to say: It can be hard to find a good server to get situated into, but once you've found one, it's great.  I'm not fond of the insta modes on this game, but regular ctf is very fun.  I also love the fact that there is a jetpack and grappling hook to get across the map quickly.  Also, I saw a map that was almost exactly like face_capture from sauer.  ALSO, does anyone know how much guns there are?

Thank you very much.

I play Urban Terror from time to time, the graphics are, well...  eh, but the game is pretty good itself, definitely more realistic than sauerbraten (again, besides the graphics), and generally has a good crowd.  Also, there is AssaultCube, but the online community is less than thriving.  I just got Nexuiz, and I'm not very familiar with it yet, but the weapons are awesome (seriously, machine gun rocket launchers!).

A) Worm, I was actually originally planning to just do the exteriors anyway.
-and-
B) On the map that you put up the coordinates for, you included some places not on the strip, but off it.  We could just do one road and apply fog and clip to make it fade out.
Cheers.

By the way, Wormwood, what do you use for making textures?  This map is going to need a zillion, and I don't want to put the burden entirely on you.

Okay, here are a lot of photos of Luxor, I couldn't find any shots of the rooms, but I got lots of shots of the interior and exterior, some of them at night, so we can figure out how to light it, and we can just look at pictures of the real sphynx for help on the mini one, except for the painting.  Good day.

By the way, for lighting, we should definitely do night time lighting, if that wasn't already obvious.
