Title: avatar icons
Post by: vampirefrog on November 15, 2011, 11:30:32 AM
You guys, it has come to my attention that there are a lot of people using hotlinked images for their profile pics. I suggest downloading those pics locally and using the upload image form. this way, there is no more hotlinking, the original aspect ratio is kept, and it loads faster.

What about dedicated image hosting sites where we've uploaded images ourselves?

I'll change mine for now anyway ;p

That would be acceptable.
Picasa, for example, should be just fine as you are linking to your own image.

Sure, you're not leeching bandwidth, but the forum still makes your image square, meaning it scales it.

i guess it's not that important :(
