I thought we were MAPPING Hell,  not Minecrafting Hell.

If minecraft deserves a server and section, then we could also start a server on QuakeLive or even Open Arena and add a section as well as it's just as relevant to our clan as minecraft is.

It seems like you aren't quite getting me.
I don't care if you would even add an entire mod to your participation node, as long as the content which is meant for participation strokes the rules (which 1 of it indirectly is that the content should run on Sauerbraten).
So attaching a different zip-file which contains the map of an end-boss is legit, as long as it's not in the main zip-file.
You should still notify that you've attached something which isn't part of the challenge though.

anyway, I've come to a conclusion regarding sauebraten - being a free game, you can't expect anything at all from it. That being said, we can ask ourselves, how could the editor become better? How could we add these features and many more? Well, someone needs to develop it. Then we probably end up using Red Eclipse as it has a more enhanced coop-edit mode as Sauerbraten has. Then again, I still hate it's gameplay.

Well, I'll try to be less harsh as Skur (even he definitely isn't meaning so) but here we go.

I have to agree Skur, some screenshots would be nice and that there are a lot of incomplete maps within the package of application. I would advice you to zip only a few really good maps rather than a lot which are only quite good.
Some proper zipping wouldn't be a bad thing to do also (create a "packages/base/name_of_map.ogz" directory, don't use uppercase symbols, etc). I've noticed certain maps aren't yours also (space-station for example), which is kind of weird not to notify.
I've noticed you love to scale up textures quite a lot or to abuse the texscroll command (as in creating plain textures); please don't. There are better ways than leaving up a map very pixelated (while most textures within Sauerbraten aren't that high quality already) or scrolling textures so fast that they become rather plain. Use another texture instead and use <mad:1/1/1> when specifying a certain texture in the map's cfg (like: texture 0 "<mad:0.5/0.5/0.5>misanthropx/white.jpg" which gives grey instead of white that way. The parameters are just RGB from 0 up to infinite I guess).

As the application looks far from valid (not even really answered on the
application questions, neither provided some proper and finished map), I still have to say, Undecided

I'm pretty sure the clan cm| has a certain server client which does most of it (except modifying the octree, sending other files as .ogz and so).

Thinks like an addition to the command "texrotate" doesn't really seems to contribute the idea of stop mapwrecking actuallly =P. I agree with most of them though (yet I'm damn sure some of them are obviously a never happening).

Untrue, as it's never clear if you would be team good or team evil. I'm not sure if this can actually be scripted (like setteam good 0). Even you've reached your goal, it's not like the way it actually should be done.
The fact stands that it's not allowed during the challenge. You can do so after that (so you just participate for the challenge, but just continue with mapping after the challenge).

No, that shouldn't be done as that's not the intention of Singleplayer. Else we could allow any mode for the challenge.
Also, you can't avoid properly that the bot spawns on the playerstart which is supposed for you while you spawn on his. Not even gameclip prevents this. So that ends up as a deathmatch on some map which is intended to be for Singleplayer (or maps were spawns are equal to each other, think about maps like hf_insta or sacrefice. Wow, it's a long time ago since I saw that map yet I still remember it 0.0). Use your common sense to think if this actually would be allowed.

P.S.
No, I won't make an idea section, because the node is already a big list =S. People can come up with ideas on their own.

You cannot add a bot into SP, so your plan get stuck there already. I actually had the same idea about a week ago to use a bot as endboss, but noticed that this is impossible.
Also, when toggling into edit-mode on SP, all triggers are back to it's original state, which screws up everything.

Using 2 maps shouldn't be done as the challenge isn't to make a complete campaign but just a single player map. You can add your campaign after that if you really want to.

Well, I walk trough coop-servers mostly somewhere between 22:00 and 23:00 GMT+1 and maybe have seen you one or twice also Leo. Keep in mind I'm from Europe so a different time-zone affects it greatly.
I certainly wouldn't mind to edit with you guys ^^!

For the twist with Ardelico;
I can't do much more as I already did. It's not like I haven't apologized to him, neither changed my behaviour.

I once had a plan to port a certain sauerbraten map from me to blood frontier, but it never happened. Maybe someday I Will port it to RE and start mapping there....

It seems like certain people log in, but never check certain forum topics. So far 7 people have voted (while 1 of them seems not a member as he states so (Zoocata); take it as a recommendation then at least) If you would keep the members which are still logged in between now and 2 weeks ago (which is exactly at the date I posted this topic), you would only keep Mr.Fixxit694, Windecker, Yoddle, ChaoStar and Skylax left (but it's like more than 3 years ago that I actually saw Skylax and that was back in the days he was WS member "for a day"). So I guess the majority of those people probably won't show up that soon and more than half of the active members already voted.

You don't need that actually to play, yet looking realistic.

Another way is to call certain parts of a model in seperated groups, as you can change their ambient, glow and bright independently. Of course it will never meet the dynamic lighting of Tesseract, but that's still a mod which isn't supported by default.

You can get a similar appearance of the models by playing with mdlambient, mdlfullbright and mdlglow also (without the need of Tesseract).

How long have you been playing ?
I've been playing since the release of Assassin edition, so something like March 2008 (I guess 5 years now?).

How did you discover the game ?
Original question, haven't heard that one for an application before. I discovered Sauerbraten via my elder brother which was a noob back then and only played singleplayer because of that.

What are your favourite game modes (except coopedit)? Why?
My favourite game modes are Free For All (or teamplay), classic Capture and Tactics Arena, but that mode died a long time ago. The reason why? Because I love to kick asses of newbie instagib players in an environment which they never truly heard of.
Even it's not an actual mode in Sauerbraten, I do like defrag (as in trickjumping). Done a lot of that back in the good ol' days...

When are you usually online?
Most days of the week, between 6 and 9. Not always though.

Why Mapping Hell?
Because as I've stated already, it seems to be a stable and active clan which I know for a years now. Next to that, the people within the clan seem to be nice persons to map and mess around with. Another reason is as I'm not planning to start up mX-clan, neither joining a clan like cm while I am actually searching for a good mapping clan to join in.

What will you bring to the team?
Happiness, good ideas for maps. Random layouts. My wicked sense of humor and attractiveness.
Maybe some knowledge and experience also (about maps, models, textures, configuring, etc) and maybe some certain services as well (as in organising, helping, etc),

Editing

What do you prefer to do in coopedit? Why?
I've considered lots of times to move on to the next map-editor, but I keep sticking to Sauerbraten somehow. I prefer making maps which contain everything to make a map look pretty, but still feeling great to run through and play at.

How many mapping projects did you start?
I have no idea. I think it's about 42 which are like half- or completely done. I won't count stuff which are cooperative (like clanmaps), just experiments or certain ideas as then you probably could double or even triple it.

How many maps have you finished? How many have you uploaded on quadropolis (links)?
You can put a whole debate of when something is actually finished =P. Well, I'll take it just as "good enough to show to the public which probably will review it positively".

I've putted it in an order of which I actually think that is the best to what actually shouldn't be shown.

I actually have no favourite kind of map, but I prefer when it's designed to run around. People should be free to navigate through a map and stop whenever they want to look at a certain detail or do other stuff.

On my curriculum vitae of clan I was the founder and the leader of WS|clan (A fragging clan called We Suck in the 1st generation, Wild Sex in the 2nd generation (co-leader), Without Sense in the 3th generation (co-leader)). As stated in the "Introduce Yourself" topic, I've been in mX|clan twice (which I joined after the 1st generation of WS|clan, rejoined at the 2nd generation again). So I wouldn't mind organising certain stuff when I would be member as my experience could help a little...
