Maps / Re: The PowerMapper Project
May 12, 2018, 11:05:06 PM
I've always liked the idea of a more advanced and better editing gui. However, I've always been afraid of messing up and not being able to retrieve it back to original state (perhaps this is an experience I had in the very past).
Maybe it will be time for a change some time.

Anyway, impressive work.

Turbine could use some new textures, especially in Tesseract.

Sounds like a good idea. I like messing around with linear maps, as you can start off with zero ideas, and just build as you go.  When you don't know what to build, they can be fun to work on.

+1 for trickjumps too. I love making maps with rifle/rocket jumps etc.

Makes the map way more unique than current race maps and puts it to a higher level.

I've got the very same problem; I'm growing up (barely any time to review maps, play sauerbraten or even work on my own projects due living nearly 5/7 days with my girlfriend and kids, having a fulltime job, doing voluntary work, exercising, studying, etc).

Looks pleasing to the eye.

The circular  holes look controversial towards the rest of the geometry  though.

Let's see..

Sky, clouds, airplanes, stars, space shuttles, moon, boners, ceiling, tall trees, ozone, atmosphere, particles, other forms of chemicals in the atmosphere, jets, helimachopters, skydivers, skyscrapers.  That's whats up.

Otherwise, I've just been making some small SP maps to get used to the feel of SP mapping before I start up watercity again.  (it is 4x the size of xenon, there's no way it will be playable in any other mode but regen capture.)  So SP is the way to go!

Doesn't sound like playable in capture also.

Applications / Re: Current member list
January 19, 2014, 10:47:21 AM
I wonder what is actually left of that quite big list of names?

I have some trouble with certain accounts actually.
An administrator shouldn't be unactive, else he (or she) isn't fullfilling his (or her) tasks right (they should be degraded to regular member again).
Members which left the clan shouldn't still be ranked as admin neither moderator or even member (Sweet is a great example for that)..
People which are unactive aren't counting to me as real members. They are rather "wanna be member but don't expect any effort from me". Same for extending their inactivity by posting useless comments (while not doing anything the rest of the time to keep the clan grow and flow). Those guys don't deserve to wear an MH tag. Be proud, or be dead.

So, who is still a hardcore member of this clan?

P.S.
I wouldn't mind cleaning up the memberlist, but I'm still a regular member. I thought someone stated that I'm clanleader of the Sauerbraten part?

P.P.S.
I'm actually posting this so the clan has a fresh start once more. Members which are nonexistant aren't helping with that.

New year resolutions:
- Go back to work after having a leg injury of 2 months (for # sake, I want my job back).
- Fix up Evilness (yea, I'm never satisfied), lost_soul and perhaps mysterious_farm.
- Learn Blender (damn what pain).
- Get to know WordPress (perhaps time to help on Quadropolis).
- Learn OpenGL? It somehow always have interested me more than things of C++ and I somehow see a little more sense in it.

I think I'll take a break from dm maps for a couple months.  People on quad expect too much.

I'll go into SP maps now, somewhat good at scripting, and its basically a race map but with shit to kill.

The best part about SP maps: who cares about the layout, if its a race map it can have all sorts of stuff that a dm maps gameplay couldn't support.

I've got to admit; your first layouts which you posted on Quadropolis were pretty good.

I often do the very same as Skur notified, but I look at other maps to gain inspiration as well (for example, Quake 3 maps but official Sauerbraten maps also, some not even in the release).
After a few tries (and perhaps some tutorials about flow and gameplay), you'll have the experience to create layouts even without paper or a lot of inspiration.

Not a big deal. It's not like we act as a typical mapping clan. Most members do anything except mapping or even reply on the forums at the moment. Yea, we died...

Sui, I won't have that attitude. Please reprase more positively.

Ok I'll apologize for saying that, my bad.
It's nice to have a website which still brings all members together, as far as they can.

Next to mapping, I'm just messing around on Quadropolis.

Awesome that we make polls and announcement on places of the forum which everyone can see.

I couldn't post yesterday because the server was offline  /!\

How about this: You're walking up the stairs to heaven, clouds and shit. But right when you get to the gate *boom* you fall straight into hell! The entire base will be underground right smack in the middle of a magma chamber of an active volcano. Picture evil, dark, satanic underworld cause this is MH for fucks sake! I'll get started on it asap

Damn you, I once had that as idea for a ctf map. Oh well, perhaps too hard to perform well on Sauerbraten...

I've started plenty of ideas for clan maps, yet nobody gives a fuck.  So just as Sui said, which I was actually gonna say,  make up your own shit since nobody cares anymore.  This clan is on the edge of death, if not already falling.

Indeed you did, but they are quite restrictive...

I have to much going on right now to manage another project, but if one of you chaps start a project and make it easy for me to jump in, then I'll be happy to do so. I'm still in love with the cube2 engine <3

Anyone against a roman/greek/spartican (just around that age) themed map?
Perhaps we can split section into things like a council, an arena, a temple, a market place, a prison,  the aquastructure, some triomph arches and the actual village. There probably would be a lot more stuff to add, but this would be a start right?

I still got to mention; I'm not withstanding to take one of ardelico's ideas (like GTA), but rather come up with something less 'flat'. Nothing personally meant of course.
